Opinion: Why 'Human-Made' Labels Will Be the Next Organic Food
April 23, 2026
In ten years, we won't ask if a photo is 'real'—we'll ask if it's 'Human.' As generative AI becomes indistinguishable from human creativity, we are entering a phase where the imperfection of the human hand is becoming the ultimate status symbol. Much like the organic food movement of the early 2000s, I predict a massive surge in 'Human-Certified' labels for everything from journalism to furniture.
We crave the soul, the struggle, and the context behind an object. An AI can generate a perfect sonnet, but it cannot tell you why it wrote it. It didn't suffer through a breakup; it didn't lose a friend; it didn't feel the sun on its face.
As consumers, we will soon reach "digital saturation." When content is infinite and free, we will choose to pay a premium for the limited and the local. The future belongs to the artisans, the storytellers, and the creators who refuse to hide their fingerprints.
